Cell Phone RF and EMF radiation has been a growing concern over the last decade. Concerns began when international research began linking cell phone use to increases in cancer. Several long term international studies have shown increases in health risks relating to cell phone use over ten years.
In 2009, Dr. Keith Black, Chairman of the neurosurgery department, publically noted that he felt prominent attorney Johnny Cochran developed a brain tumor from his cell phone use.
The media buzz that Dr. Keith Black created was carried on when the World Health Organization added
cell phone radiation to their list of “possible carcinogens” in May of 2011. Since then the dangers of cell phone radiation have been presented worldwide by prominent doctors such as Dr. Oz and Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Stories discussing this topic have appeared on nearly every major news network.
The Journal of the American Medical Association did a several month test and concluded that the brain metabolism changes in as little as forty five minute exposure to cell phone radiation.
Dr. Devra Davis has written an entire book regarding the dangers of cell phone radiation, Disconnect, and she has spent a great deal of time discussing how harmful radiation can be on the underdeveloped tissues of child’s brain.
The issue has mushroomed to the point where state level legislators are getting involved. States such as California, Maine, New Mexico, Oregon and Pennsylvania have tried to pass laws requiring cell phone companies to post radiation warnings on phone packaging.
The bill was passed in Maine in 2014, only to be cut down by the wireless lobby right before it was enacted. A similar bill is projected to be passed in Hawaii.
